It is very narrow and the passage to the top is carried out taking into account the visitors: it is difficult to disperse on the stairs. The mountain is located in the reserve zone. It works daily from 8 am to 7 pm. The entrance ticket is 3 €. The height of the mountain reaches almost 280 m. A road leads to the foot of the mountain. There is parking for the car. You can climb with the excursion or on your own. A huge mysterious cross is visible long before the entrance to the hill. It arouses interest and respect.

Mandraki port

The journey around the island begins from the ancient port of Mandraki, which has a life history of over 2 millennia. The military port of ancient times was decorated with the legendary statue of the Colossus of Rhodes. Ships floated between her legs. Now statues of heraldic animals (deer and deer) meet ships at the entrance to the bay. And modern liners with tourists moor to a special pier. Numerous ships, yachts, fishing boats fill the entire area of ​​the port.

The excavations began with the accidentally discovered graves in 1859. The archaeological wealth of Kamiros is only 30% extracted from the ground. Further excavations promise to reveal new secrets of the city's life in the Hellenistic period.

Monolithos castle

Castles of the Middle Ages have always been surrounded by powerful fortress walls. They were inaccessible to enemies and opened up an excellent view of the surroundings. One of these castles, together with a fortress built in the Byzantine style, was Monolithos. It is frozen at the top of the Akramitis cliff in the Aegean Sea on the west coast of the island.

The architectural work was built in 1476. The disappeared need to use the fortress led to desolation, the destruction of all buildings. Nowadays, only admirable stone ruins can be seen here.
